Do you enjoy singing - come and join our Choir?  We are all enthusiastic and enjoy singing.  Our Director of Music, Alan Lewis, who a highly professional musician and teacher, will lead us in Handel's Hallelujah Chorus on Easter Day.  The main Sunday sung service is at 10 a.m.  Practices usually take place on Tuesdays between 8-9 p.m. and are open to all who enjoy singing.  Contacts: Alan Lewis M: 07714 986 684, mail@louislewis.co.uk or

It's Good Friday, it's 1 in the afternoon... Mum, I'm bored!

What's the answer?

The Good Friday Children’s Workshop for 3 to 15 years of age, at

St. Michael's, Beaconsfield.

Bring your friends for two hours of fun, drama, craft and an interactive retelling of the Easter story. Be prepared: could we meet with the risen Christ on Good Friday?

See you between 1pm and 3pm at St. Michael and All Angels church Hall on Friday 2nd April.

St Michael’s Services for Lent, Passiontide, Holy Week and Easter

Services for all the family during the time before and during Easter.

 

Sunday 28th March,                                 Palm Sunday

8.00am                                                          Said Holy Communion, traditional service

9.20am                                                          Prayers in the Lady Chapel, all welcome

10.00 am                                                      Family Service, celebrating Jesus going to Jerusalem.

 

Mon 29th, Tues 30th

&Wed 31st March, 7.30 pm                     There is a service of Holy Communion in the Lady Chapel.

 

Thursday1st April, 7.30 pm                    Maundy Thursday - Service of the Last Supper,

                                                                       followed by ‘The Watch’ until midnight.

                                                                       We remember Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane.

                                                                       We can come and go into the church for quiet prayer or reflection anytime between 8.30 pm and midnight. Readings are given every half hour.        

 

Friday 2nd April, 9.15 am                         Good Friday - the Liturgy of the Cross

                                                                       Afterwards we go to the Beaconsfield New Town and gather for the Walk of Witness near Grove Road and walk to the green (outside the Town Hall) for ……

8.00 am                                                         Holy Communion

10.00am                                                       Family Holy Communion with Easter eggs.

                                                                       Bring a decorated egg (blown or hard boiled) for decorating the Altar and/or your coloured picture from page 13 of the Angelus. We will have an egg rolling competition afterwards, with the hard boiled eggs, on the grass outside!

Diminishing Lunches in aid of Sharon International Ministries (SIM)

After Easter we will be starting a programme of “Diminishing Lunches” in aid of SIM school in Rural India that St Michael’s supports.  Details will be published nearer the time but in essence we will be inviting 8 guests to join us for a 2 course lunch with wine and will ask each guest to make a minimum donation of £12 which will all go to SIM.  Then each of our guests will be asked to invite 7 people to lunch for a similar contribution to SIM and so on.

Our initial 8 guests will be drawn from different areas / churches in the Beaconsfield area. The programme will terminate when table numbers have reduced to host + 2 guests.

ST. MICHAEL’S SPRING FAIR AND PLANT SALE

Saturday 8 May 11:30-2:30 St. Michael’s Church and Hall

This year’s Spring Fair will be bigger than ever with the delicious addition

of a BBQ Lunch!!!  The stalls will include fun for all ages – plants (bedding/perennials/shrubs/vegetables/herb/etc.), children’s activities, home-made cakes, preserves and chutneys, bric-a-brac, tombolas, a treasure hunt, jewellery, books, children’s toys, a bran tub, a raffle plus lots more.  Tea/Coffee and cake will be served in the Hall.  All proceed will go to the Church Resource Centre.  Come along and join in the fun.
