The Children’s Holiday Club at St Michael’s was
a great success again this year with an average of 65 children each day
enjoying all kinds of activities from artwork, handicrafts, flower
arranging, cooking, face painting and more.
There were games in the church garden with our vicar’s husband, Ken.
There was a large model railway in St Michael’s Room with lots of adult
male helpers! At the end of each
morning the children went into the church and enjoyed singing and dancing
led by the Vicar, Camilla Walton. We
hope the parents who came to collect their children enjoyed it as much as
the children, teenagers and the helpers!
A great thank you to everybody who gave their time and support.
A note from our Vicar Camilla
I want
to add my heartfelt thanks to all the helpers and organisers who made it
happen. I have never seen so may varied and interesting activities on offer
for all to join in! This holiday club
is a truly clear example of what we hope our church can do – offer generous
love to the community that is both useful and fun. Finally, thank you as well to all the
parents who sent their children. It
is a privilege for us to meet your children and they were brilliant. I really enjoyed meeting with them and
meeting some of you and hope we will see you again sometime. Camilla.
